About Us

Bob Powell

In January 1974 I joined the original Plymouth Rubber Company as the Field Sales manager—a year later I hired, trained and began to manage their Regional Sales Force.

I was promoted to National Sales Manager in 1978 and stayed there until June of 1980 when Management allowed me to resign with 60 days notice so that I could begin Powell Electrical Sales on August 1st .

In February of 1982 I merged my company with the R.A. Johnson Company (1947) to form Kunz-Powell & Associates, Inc.

I resigned from active participation at the beginning of the pandemic at which time Brendan Powell earned full control of the company.

I began Repstart, Inc. during the K-P years as a way to use some of the skills I had developed over the years to facilitate a Rep Networking Group and to hire and assist in the management of several start-up Electrical Manufacturers.

K-P asked me to help train a couple of new sales reps. I began the training using a Zoom format I realized that doing them alone would quickly become tiresome and ineffective.

I changed the program to include Distributor, Manufacturer, Contractor and Publishing Professionals as well as a Proven Sales Leader and trainer from outside the industry.

This format has proven to be working really well.

Jim Dollard

“Jim Dollard is one of the most knowledgable people on basic electrical theory and workplace safety. We use him for at least three seminars a year with our work force.”
J.M
President of Contractor served by local IBEW 98

I began my electrical life as an apprentice with Philadelphia IBEW Local 98 in July of 1981 and rapidly rose through the ranks to become the apprentice  training director for 18 years.

After that I became the Safety Director, a position that I held until my retirement from the union.

For the past many years I have worked with the largest inspection group in the Philly area as their code consultant, served on several committees with the NFPA working on code issues and taught various classes for the Electrical Association of Philadelphia.

I am looking forward to working with all of the NEMRA Members,  the Reps and the Manufacturers.
